Award winning hosting
In a market increasingly perceived as 'commoditised' it's important to stand out from the crowd. Ultraspeed, one of the leading UK managed hosting providers sought to do just that when it joined forces with Babel PR. Babel recognised that in order for Ultraspeed to gain traction against its larger and better known competitors it needed to communicate candidly on all issues affecting the managed hosting market and data centres issues generally as well as highlighting the unique features of its offering.
To this end, Babel designed a campaign focused on the environmental and reliability features of Ultraspeed's service. This saw the company emerge as a leading commentator on how data centres could be adapted to run on DC power and without using hard disks in individual servers. By doing this data centres could not only save up to 40% on power consumption, but the reliability of the managed hosting service could also be significantly improved.
The success of the campaign resulted in a five-fold increase in the number of hits on Ultraspeed's web site, it also saw Ultraspeed feature in titles as prestigious as the Financial Times, IT Week, Computer Weekly, Computer World and Techworld. The company also won the award for innovation in the medium datacentre at the Datacentre Awards 2007 and was a finalist at the British Computer Society awards in association with Computer Weekly.
