Geodesic worked with Babel PR in 2007 to launch its mobile instant messaging service, Mundu IM into the UK market. The objectives of the campaign were twofold: (1) to generate downloads of the Mundu IM client to mobile handsets and, (2) to create awareness among mobile handset manufacturers of the benefits of embedding the service into mobile phones offered to consumers.

Babel designed two streams of parallel activity which included media briefings with trade and technical media and a reviews programme for the service to ensure mainstream consumer and consumer technology titles covered the UK launch. In addition the Babel team also ensured the service was available to consumers on as many software download sites in the UK and Europe.

The campaign delivered the downloads, the awareness and gave Mundu IM the start it needed. Comprehensive coverage included pieces in top trade media like Mobile Marketing and leading consumer titles such as Stuff.
